How do you get into Langley Grammar?
Langley Grammar School is a co-educational grammar school in Slough, Berkshire, for ages 11–18. Competition for places is strong: only 180 children are admitted to Year 7 each year, selected through the Slough Consortium of Grammar Schools. Because places are decided mainly on the test score, focused preparation makes a real difference.
Think Smart Academy has been preparing children for the 11+ for over a decade. Our Slough centre prepares Langley applicants for the Slough Consortium 11+. We teach Maths, English, Verbal Reasoning and Non-Verbal Reasoning in separate sessions rather than rushed combined lessons, and track progress with termly mock exams and parent reports. Classes are capped at eight students, and every child starts with a free diagnostic assessment so we can see where they need the most work.
- Largest of the Slough Consortium grammars by intake (180 places per year).

How does the Langley Grammar 11+ test work, and how are places allocated?
Two test papers covering verbal reasoning, non-verbal reasoning, English and mathematics. One registration covers all four Slough Consortium schools.
Qualifying score: An average standardised score of 111 or above (roughly the top 35% of the cohort) makes a child eligible for consideration. It is an eligibility threshold, not a guarantee. Each school then applies its own oversubscription criteria, and the score needed in practice runs higher.
How Langley Grammar allocates places: Eligibility requires a standardised 11+ score of 111+. The school operates Priority Admission Areas: up to 100 places to eligible applicants in Priority Area 1 (Pupil Premium first, then test rank), then further places to Priority Area 2 and by rank score.

A-level figures are the school’s published 2025 results (see the A-level section above for the exact source).
