The Four Slough Consortium Grammar Schools
One 11+ test, sat on Saturday 19 September 2026, covers all four Slough Consortium grammar schools. A standardised score of 111+ (standardised) makes a child eligible for consideration, each school then applies its own oversubscription criteria.

Frequently Asked Questions About 11+ Tuition
We recommend starting preparation in Year 4, roughly 12 to 18 months before the exam date. This gives your child enough time to build a solid foundation across all four subjects without feeling rushed. However, we do accept students who start later, our intensive programmes in Year 5 can still make a significant difference, especially for children who are already performing well at school.
Our Slough centre prepares children for the GL Assessment, the provider used by the Slough Consortium of grammar schools since 2024 and by the Buckinghamshire grammar schools. The next Slough Consortium test takes place on Saturday 19 September 2026, and a standardised score of 111 makes a child eligible for consideration at the consortium schools. Our materials and mock exams follow the GL format across all four subjects. From September 2027, the Slough Consortium moves to a new provider, Quest Assessments, this does not affect the 2026 exam. From our Slough centre, our students have secured 500+ grammar school places over the past decade, including at Herschel Grammar, Langley Grammar, St Bernard's Catholic Grammar, and Upton Court Grammar (the four Slough Consortium schools). In recent years, over 85% of our fully enrolled 11+ students received at least one grammar school offer.
Our 11+ classes have a maximum of 8 students per group. We keep groups deliberately small so that every child receives individual attention, and tutors can identify and address specific weaknesses. We also offer 1-to-1 sessions for students who need more targeted support or who prefer a private setting.
Yes. We run termly mock exams under timed, exam-hall conditions so students experience the pressure of the real test. After each mock, parents receive a detailed breakdown of marks by subject and topic, along with specific recommendations. We also run an intensive mock exam series in the summer before the September test date.
Our programme covers all four core 11+ subjects: Maths, English, Verbal Reasoning, and Non-Verbal Reasoning. Each subject is taught as a dedicated session, not bundled together. This means your child gets focused, in-depth tuition on each area rather than surface-level coverage of everything in a single lesson.
