The Summer Creative Writing Competition

Every student on the masterclass is invited to enter. Write a poem, a short story, or the opening of a story, up to 1,000 words. The winner takes home £250 in cash.

KS3 students (ages 11 to 14, Years 7 to 9) who want to become stronger, more confident writers in English, whether for school, the 11+/KS3 years, or just for the love of writing. It works as a KS3 English (Writing) summer course and a creative writing masterclass in one.
It is fully online. Your child joins live over video from home, with no travel needed. Every session is recorded, so if they miss one or want to revisit it, they can watch it back.
All four 2-hour live sessions (8 hours of teaching), the session recordings, and free entry into the Summer Creative Writing Competition with a £250 cash prize.
Every student on the masterclass can enter. Submit a poem, a short story, or the opening of a story, up to 1,000 words. The best piece wins £250 in cash. Entries must be the child's own original work; we may check authenticity and ask for a short writing sample if needed, and the judges' decision is final.
