GCSE Maths Diagnostic Quiz
10 questions spanning Grades 4–9. Answer them all, see your estimated grade level, and find out which topics need work. No sign-up required.
How to Use This Diagnostic
This 10-question quiz spans the full GCSE Maths grade range — from Grade 4 topics (percentages, linear equations) up to Grade 9 (completing the square, quadratic turning points). It's designed as a quick snapshot of where a student sits right now, not a full grade prediction. For that, use our topic-by-topic grade calculator.
If you scored 8–10
You're tracking at Grade 7 or above. The route to a Grade 9 is usually exam technique — timing, showing working, and tackling the hardest 2-3 questions on each paper. Book a diagnostic and we'll focus on those.
If you scored 5–7
You're in the Grade 4–6 band. A targeted plan covering quadratics, trigonometry and graph work typically lifts students one full grade within 8–10 weeks of weekly tutoring.
If you scored below 5
The fundamentals need consolidating before exam prep makes sense. Start with linear algebra, proportional reasoning and basic geometry. A tutor can build a 12-week foundation plan that gets you exam-ready.
What this diagnostic does NOT do
Ten questions cannot capture every topic. The result is a rough indicator. For a precise picture, combine this diagnostic with our topic-by-topic grade calculator and — ideally — a real past paper sat under timed conditions.
